7 Days Later

So I stopped the cleanse the second full day in when my wife made delicious food. Weak, I know.

It was, however, South Beach Diet friendly so I didn't feel too terrible. From then on, I've been following South Beach as closely as possible. I'm now down to 192-193lbs, so it's working.

I've also been keeping track of everything I eat with the "Lose It" iPhone application, so that's proved to be very worthwhile. I just have to make sure I stay under 1700 calories per day and I'm on track to get to 170lbs by October.

Today was great, because I remembered how awesome Chipotle is. You can get chicken, fajita veggies, black beans, lettuce and cheese all in a delicious bowl. Normally, this is all put into a burrito with rice but I leave that stuff out. Very tasty and very calorie-efficient at about 340 calories. Even then, these calories are all South Beach Phase One approved. :)

Although the diet allows for essentially unlimited eggs, I've been eating about two for breakfast and then a couple for a snack during the work day. My only worry here is that my cholesterol doesnt' shoot through the roof and end up killing me prematurely. No point in losing weight if you won't be around to buy new clothes. :|

So yeah, overall the diet is going really well and I'm pleased with the results so far.

From 205lbs to 193lbs (12lbs) in one week isn't bad at all. I don't expect those kinds of results to continue but if I can do 6lbs/week, I can reach my 170lbs goal in about four more weeks and that is a really good feeling.

I've also been trying not to tell too many people as I'd rather they just see for themselves (more encouraging that way I suppose). On the other hand, the weight is disappearing from mysterious places as my body shape seems to stay the same overall. I suppose once I get down to 180lbs or so, I'll start to notice some sort of figure change.

We have a wedding to go to in September, so I'm hoping to look pretty fit for that. On the other hand, I'll have to get a new suit and (hopefully) a tailored shirt.
